Background...
The mission of the Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) is to manage, develop, and protect water and related resources in an environmentally and economically sound manner in the interest of the American public. The Mid-Pacific Region of the Bureau of Reclamation is requesting proposals for cost share funding for water conservation activities.
The United States Congress has approved funding for this Program for Fiscal Year 2005. To be eligible for financial assistance, a proposed activity must have a defined relationship to one, or more, specific Reclamation water projects. The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) created the Water Conservation Field Service Program (WCFSP) or Program.
The WCFSP is designed to: encourage water conservation; assist water agencies to develop and implement effective water management and conservation plans; coordinate with state and other local conservation plan efforts; and generally foster improved water management on a regional, statewide, and watershed basis. Areas of emphasis include:
- Water Management Planning
- Water Conservation Education
- Demonstration of Innovative Technologies
- Implementation of Conservation Measures
