These guidelines were written with an emphasis on water quality data collection and one-dimensional modeling of rivers and tailwaters downstream of dams. However, some information on selective withdrawal from a reservoir is also included here, because reservoir models often provide the upstream boundary condition for dam tailwater riverine models.
