Upcoming National and Regional Consultations

Reclamation’s Role and Implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act
The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 provides for Tribal participation in four programs: 1) Domestic Water Supply Projects ($550 million), 2) Canal Improvement Projects ($25 million), 3) Drought Mitigation in Reclamation's 17 Western States ($4 billion), and 4) Emergency Drought Relief for Tribes ($12.5 million).  Tribes are eligible recipients in the first three programs; the fourth program is exclusively for the benefit of tribes in the Reclamation states. Reclamation seeks to consult with federally recognized Indian tribes in the Reclamation states on implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act as it applies to tribes in the early planning stages.
