Flaming Gorge Dam - Colorado River Basin Storage Project

Flaming Gorge Dam is on the Green River in northern Utah. The dam is a concrete arch structure just over 500-feet high. As a unit of the Colorado River Storage Project, water stored at Flaming Gorge helps the states in the Upper Colorado River Basin fulfill their obligations as outlined in the Colorado River Compact. Other units of the project include Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell in Arizona, Blue Mesa Dam and Reservoir in Colorado, and Navajo Dam and Reservoir in New Mexico.
