Title: | 2016 Temporary Change in Water Quality Requirements for Groundwater Introduced into the Upper Portion of the Delta-Mendota Canal |
---|---|
Summary: | Based on hydrologic conditions and regulatory requirements, Reclamation declared a 5 percent allocation for south of Delta Central Valley Project (CVP) agricultural contractors for the 2016 Contract Year. As a result, CVP contractors have a need to find alternative sources of water to fulfill demands. For groundwater introduced into the upper portion of the Delta-Mendota Canal (DMC), Reclamation proposes to temporarily change the maximum acceptable concentration of selenium measured at the well head from 2 parts per billion (ppb), to 5 ppb. The change would only be in effect through September 30, 2016. The maximum allowable selenium concentration for wells in the lower portion of the DMC would be unchanged. |
