Title: Merced Irrigation District WaterSMART Drought Resiliency Grant
Summary: The Merced Irrigation District is seeking a WaterSMART grant from Reclamation to provide funding for the development of a real time simulation water management model. The model will use real time Merced River data to analyze and predict drought conditions. Two data collection stations will be installed, along with instream stage gages, along the banks of the Merced River at the Highway 59 bridge and the private Gallo Road bridge. The model is intended to help address climate-related effects to water conditions, enhance drought resiliency, and provide drought protection.
