Title: | Delivery and Use of Unreleased San Joaquin River Restoration Flows |
---|---|
Summary: | Reclamation proposed to sell and exchange Unreleased Restoration Flows for the purpose supporting restoration actions on the San Joaquin River. This water will be sold or exchanged with willing buyers, with first priority given to Friant Long-term Contractors. The Unreleased Restoration Flows are generated when San Joaquin River Restoration Program (SJRRP) Restoration Flows cannot be released due to channel capacity constraints. Since its inception, the SJRRP has been actively addressing downstream constraints that limit Restoration Flows. The quantity of URFs generated over the next ten years is expected to decline as channel capacity constraints are improved. As described in the 2023 FONSI, the action is proposed to be implemented through 2033. |
