Project Details
Title: James Irrigation District's Water Banking Expansion Project
Summary: Reclamation proposes to award grant(s) to James ID for its? proposed Project in order to partially fund the modification and expansion of an existing regulation/recharge/banking area within the James Bypass. The proposed Project includes excavation of an existing basin, construction of new levees with associated canals and turnouts, enhancement of existing levees, installation of booster pumps, installation of control structures, installation of interconnecting pipelines, installation of siphons to cross underneath the James Bypass Main Channel, installation of up to five new wells with associated pipelines, installation of new gates to the existing E Booster check structure (located within James ID?s Main Canal), construction of an earthen water control structure, and various appurtenances. In addition to the proposed Project, James ID would construct a 154.7 acre San Joaquin kit fox conservation area/preserve located in the James Bypass north of Placer Avenue.
