Biden-Harris Administration Announces $41 Million Investment in Water Resources and Ecosystem Health
Jan. 7, 2025 – The Department of the Interior today announced a more than $41 million investment from President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for 21 projects to bolster water resources, advance ecosystem health, and support resilience in communities facing drought and other climate change impacts. The projects will support instream and riparian restoration, canal lining and piping, fish habitat improvements and fish passage. Reclamation greenlights action plan for the long-term operation of the Central Valley Project and State Water Project
Dec. 20, 2024 – The Bureau of Reclamation today approved a new plan for the Long-Term Operation of the Central Valley Project and Delta facilities of the State Water Project. Biden-Harris Administration Announces More Than $37 million from President’s Investing in America Agenda to Conserve Water in Oregon, Strengthen Drought Resilience
Dec. 20, 2024 – The Department of the Interior today announced a $37.4 million investment through President Biden’s Investing in America agenda for three projects to help improve drought resiliency in Oregon. The projects, funded through the Inflation Reduction Act – the largest ever investment in climate – are expected to conserve almost 5,000 acre-feet of water annually in the Ochoco, Central Oregon and Tumalo irrigation districts by enclosing open canals into pipelines, reducing water losses to evaporation and seepage, and creating more efficient water transportation. Elizabeth Hadley Named Area Manager for the Northern California Area Office
Dec. 19, 2024 – The Bureau of Reclamation today announced Elizabeth Hadley as the new Area Manager for the Northern California Area Office in Reclamation’s California-Great Basin Region. As the Area Manager, Hadley is responsible for managing a staff of 216 people, all programs and facilities within the Shasta and Trinity divisions of the Central Valley Project, along with the Orland Project and the Trinity River Restoration Program. These divisions include 13 dams with a combined storage capacity of nearly 9 million acre-feet of water and six powerplants with a combined capacity of over 1,200 megawatts. -

Reclamation and Placer County Water Agency finalize long-term Warren Act contract
Dec. 19, 2024 – The Bureau of Reclamation today announces the recent execution of the Long-Term Contract Between the United States and Placer County Water Agency Providing for Storage and Conveyance of Non-Project Water. The agreement was negotiated and completed pursuant to the Warren Act of 1911. -
