2012 Canyon Dam Experimental High Flow

DOI triggered the first high flow experimental (HFE) release since 2008 from Glen Canyon Dam on Nov. 19 based on the new science-based protocol for conducting more frequent HFEs. The on-going cycle of scientific experimentation, learning through doing, and improvement over time at Glen Canyon Dam is known as the Adaptive Management Program, and has set the stage for the new multi-year protocol for conducting experimental high flow releases to benefit downstream resources.
