Mr. Knowles is a fish and wildlife biologist for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at the Arizona Ecological Services Office, in Phoenix, Arizona, where he has held this position since 2001. Previously, he was a research associate at Arizona State University, where he researched the life history and conservation biology of native fish of the southwest United States. Later, Glen worked for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on conservation of southern California's aquatic fauna at the Carlsbad Fish and Wildlife Office. He is a member of the Desert Fishes Council, Society of Icthyologists and Herpetologists, and the Society for Conservation Biology.

Glen received a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Resources from Arizona State University in 1993, and a Master of Science in Zoology from Arizona State University in 1998.
