Building Seismic Safety Program
Portfolio Funding
The use of Portfolio Funding allows the Program to direct available seismic risk mitigation funding to the highest risk projects while risk identification work is continuing and the priority of rehabilitation projects is changing. Portfolio funding minimizes the overall risk reduction time frame by shortening or eliminating the budget request cycle time.
Rehabilitation priorities for all buildings may be realigned when new high-risk buildings are identified. Therefore, the Program reserves the right to postpone tentatively obligated risk reduction funding in order to pursue the rehabilitation of newly identified higher risk buildings. However, once rehabilitation designs have begun, Program funding for the project is allocated and will not be re-prioritized.
