Tolerable Risk WorkshopIn March 2008, The Bureau of Reclamation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission convened a workshop to discuss tolerable risk concepts to better determine, prioritize, and justify risk reduction actions, better communicate risks, to better understand and evaluate public safety risks in an environment of shared flood risk management responsibilities, and to make better decisions.
Joint Risk Management
In 2007, The Bureau of Reclamation and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers agreed to jointly develop risk management strategies and risk assesment methods.
National Dam Safety Review Board / Interagency Committee on Dam Safety
Reclamation participates and support a variety of activities associated with the NDSRB and ICODS.
Association of State Dam Safety Officials:
Reclamation participates and support a variety of activities associated with ASDSO.
U.S. Society on Dams:
Reclamation is Charter Sustaining Member of USSD. Many of Reclamation's staff serve on USSD committees.
Canadian Electric Association - Dam Safety Interest Group:
Reclamation is a member of CEA and actively supports and participates in research activities with CEA and its members.
