- You must use at least version 5.0 of Adobe Acrobat Reader. If the version you are using is less than version 5.0, use the following Adobe button to download the latest free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.

- If your forms are printing in reduced size and/or in the incorrect orientation (i.e., portrait vs. landscape), try adjusting the following in Adobe Acrobat Reader:
- In the "Print" dialog box, "Page Handling" section (or "Copies and Adjustments" section, depending on the version of Reader), only Auto-rotate and center pages should be selected. Any checkbox referring to "Shrink oversized pages to paper size" needs to be un-checked.

- If your forms exceed the margins allowed by your printer, try adjusting the following in Adobe Acrobat Reader:
- For Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 5.0 -- In the "Print" dialog box, "Copies and Adjustments" section, check the "Shrink oversized pages to paper size" option.
- For Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 6.0 and above -- In the "Print" dialog box, "Page Handling" section, select "Fit to Printable Area" (or "Fit to paper," depending on the version of Reader) from the "Page Scaling" drop-down menu.
- If you receive an error message about your printer having low memory, check the "Print as image" setting in the "Printer" section of Adobe Acrobat Reader's "Print" dialog box.
Completing Fillable RRA Forms
Completing Fillable RRA Forms
- All district RRA forms and select landholder RRA forms can be electronically completed. The electronically fillable RRA forms are identified as "fillable" where the links to each RRA form are provided. At this time there is no electronic submittal of the landholder RRA forms. Completed landholder RRA forms must be manually submitted to the appropriate district or Reclaamtion office.
- To more readily use our fillable RRA forms, we suggest that you download them directly to your local computer instead of completing the forms through your web browser. To download the forms to your local computer (with a Windows operating system), perform the following:
- "Right-click" on the link to your specific form
- Select "Save Link As:" (in Netscape) or "Save Target As" (in Internet Explorer)
- Basics for using a fillable RRA form:
- Position the cursor inside a form field (the cursor will change to an I-beam), then click and type in your text. If the form field is a check box or a circular button, the cursor will change to a pointing finger; click on the box or button to select it. To de-select a check box or a button, click on the correct check box or button.
- After entering text (or selecting a check box or button), do one of the following:
- Press Tab to accept the form field change and go to the next form field, or
- Use the mouse to click on the next form field.
- Once you have completed the appropriate form fields, print out the completed RRA form.
- If your computer is slowed by the forms' automatic calculation:
- Exit your web browser (i.e., work off-line)
- Open Adobe Acrobat Reader
- Open your RRA form in Adobe Acrobat Reader
- From the menu:
- Select "Edit"
- Select "Preferences"
- Select "General" (this particular step is necessary only if you have the full Adobe Acrobat software package)
- Un-check "Auto Calculate Field Values"
After completing your form you must check the "Auto Calculate Field Values" again using the above procedure in order to calculate the data you entered into the form.
- Adobe Acrobat Reader has the capability to provide a colored rectangle that outlines each data entry field, in succession, to indicate your cursor's current location on the form. If you determine that this colored rectangle will facilitate your data entry, perform the following steps while in an open RRA form in Adobe Acrobat Reader:
- From the menu, select "Edit"
- Select "Preferences"
- Select "General" (this particular step is necessary only if you have the full Adobe Acrobat software package)
- Check "Show Focus Rectangle"
- Check "Highlight Form Fields"
- Select a highlight color
- Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0 has the capbaility of showing fillable fields in color. If you determine that this feature will facilitate your data entry, perform the following steps while in an open RRA form in Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0:
- From the menu, select "Edit"
- Select "Preferences"
- Select "Forms"
- Check "Background Color," or "Highlight Color" in later versions of Reader
- Select a background color (lighter colors will not obsure the visibility of entered data)
