Printing RRA Forms
Printing RRA Forms
- It is very highly recommended that you save a copy of the desired RRA form to your hard drive, flash drive, or other location of your choosing, then open the saved copy to complete your form.
- We have found that taking this extra step improves the performance of the fillable RRA forms, and eliminates many completion and printing issues.
- To download the forms to your local computer (with a Windows operating system), perform the following:
- "Right-click" on the link to your specific form
- Select "Save Link As:" or "Save Target As" (depending on your browser)
- You must use at least version 7.0 of Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- If the version you are using is less than version 7.0, use the following Adobe button to download the latest free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- If your current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader is 7.0 or higher, but is not the most current version, It is possible that you will need to download and install the most recent version of Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to resolve specific issues you may be experiencing.
- Ensure you are using an Adobe product (i.e., Reader, or the full Adobe software package) to open your form. If your computer uses as its default any kind of plug-in or pdf reader software other than Adobe, it is possible that the function and/or appearance of your RRA form will be limited.
- In most cases, your computer will automatically select the program or plug-in it uses to open a pdf file. In other words, it is possible to be unaware you are not working in an Adobe program if you merely click on the pdf file in a list to open the file (e.g., in a "My Computer" list), or if you work on your form directly from the RRA website (e.g., you do not save a local copy of the form before you begin to complete the fields).
- To avoid this issue, open the Adobe program on your computer, then use the "File" and "Open" menu commands to open the copy of the RRA form that you have previously saved on your computer (or other location).

- If your forms are printing in reduced size and/or in the incorrect orientation (i.e., portrait vs. landscape), try adjusting the following in Adobe Acrobat Reader:
- In the "Print" dialog box, "Page Handling" section (or "Copies and Adjustments" section, depending on the version of Reader), only Auto-rotate and center pages should be selected. Any checkbox referring to "Shrink oversized pages to paper size" needs to be un-checked.

- If your forms exceed the margins allowed by your printer, try adjusting the following in Adobe Acrobat Reader:
- For Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 5.0 -- In the "Print" dialog box, "Copies and Adjustments" section, check the "Shrink oversized pages to paper size" option.
- For Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 6.0 and above -- In the "Print" dialog box, "Page Handling" section, select "Fit to Printable Area" (or "Fit to paper," depending on the version of Reader) from the "Page Scaling" drop-down menu.
- If you receive an error message about your printer having low memory:
- Check the "Print as image" setting in the "Printer" section of Adobe Acrobat Reader's "Print" dialog box. In some versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader, "Print as Image" will be located in the "Advanced" portion of the "Print" dialog box.
- Check the "Print as image" setting in the "Printer" section of Adobe Acrobat Reader's "Print" dialog box. In some versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader, "Print as Image" will be located in the "Advanced" portion of the "Print" dialog box.
- If your forms are printing too light (e.g., in shades of grey), or if you prefer not to print in color:
- Choose "File"
- Choose "Print"
- Select "Print color as black" box
Completing Fillable RRA Forms
Completing Fillable RRA Forms
- All district RRA forms and select landholder RRA forms can be electronically completed. The electronically fillable RRA forms are identified as "fillable" where the links to each RRA form are provided. At this time there is no electronic submittal of the landholder RRA forms. Completed landholder RRA forms must be manually submitted to the appropriate district or Reclaamtion office.
- Basics for using a fillable RRA form:
- Position the cursor inside a form field (the cursor will change to an I-beam), then click and type in your text. If the form field is a check box or a circular button, the cursor will change to a pointing finger; click on the box or button to select it. To de-select a check box or a button, click on the correct check box or button.
- After entering text (or selecting a check box or button), do one of the following:
- Press Tab to accept the form field change and go to the next form field, or
- Use the mouse to click on the next form field.
- Once you have completed the appropriate form fields, print out the completed RRA form.
