Carpinteria Dam

There was no extensive geologic investigation program made at the dam site.  Eight power auger holes were drilled at the site, three 30 inch diameter holes, and five 20 inch diameter holes.

Examination of the holes showed that the entire area was predominately layers of silt, clay, gravel and silty sand. The depth and sequence of these layers varied.
