| At Arbuckle Dam site on Rock Creek, the abutments are mantled with residual soil, accumulations of slope wash, colluvium and slumped material. In the foundation area across the floodplain, alluvial material ranging up to 17 feet measured thickness overlie foundation rock along the axis. Paleozoic sediments ranging in age from Ordovician to late Pennsylvanian make up the foundation rock in the abutments and foundation. The dam site is situated near the north margin of the Arbuckle uplift in the south limb of the narrow crumpled and downfaulted Mill Creek syncline. |
