Larson Creek Pipeline and Fish Passage Project
Environmental Assessment & FONSI

Overview

Larson Creek is located in the Rogue River basin near Medford, Oregon. In the environmental assessment Reclamation proposed to share the costs of constructing two pipelines and removing three diversion dams by matching Federal dollars with non-Federal dollars. Federal funds will be provided through the Water 2025 Challenge Grant Program and Reclamation’s Water Conservation Field Services Program. The Draft Environmental Assessment evaluated the potential environmental impacts associated with implementing a proposed pipeline and fish passage and habitat restoration project.

As a result of implementing the proposed project, Larson Creek would no longer be used to transport irrigation water, three fish passage barriers would be removed opening up three miles of stream habitat to aquatic species. Ninety-four acre-feet of water would be conserved annually.
