Reclamation Releases Draft Environmental Assessment for Prineville Reservoir Resource Management Plan
The Bureau of Reclamation and the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department will co-host a public meeting and workshop to collect comments and provide information on the Draft Environmental Assessment for its Resource Management Plan/Master Plan for Prineville Reservoir.
The meeting will be held on November 21, at the Crook County Fairgrounds from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Cary Foster Hall, 590 SE Lynn Blvd., Prineville, Oregon.
The RMP/MP will serve as a blueprint for the future use, management, and site development of Reclamation lands and resources. The Draft EA documents main purpose is to evaluate the potential environmental impacts associated with a proposed federal action in this case, implementing the RMP/MP.
After the presentation, the RMP/MP Team will be available at workstations where the public can view maps, get clarification, and provide comments on the contents of the Draft EA. Reclamation will have comment forms available to provide people the opportunity to submit their written comments.
In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, Reclamation has examined a range of alternatives to implement the RMP/MP, including a No Action Alternative. Preliminary alternatives were presented at the previous public meeting in November 2001. Public input helped shape the Preferred Alternative as presented in the Draft EA.
Digital (CD ROM) or paper copies of the Draft EA can be ordered by contacting Reclamation directly or via Reclamations website at www.pn.usbr.gov (follow links to Prineville Reservoir RMP). The document is also available for review at public libraries in Prineville and Bend, as well as at Reclamations Bend and Portland offices.
