Reclamation Remains on High Security Alert

Following Tuesday’s terrorist attacks, the Bureau of Reclamation stepped up its security to the highest level, where it remains today. All dams, powerplants, and offices remain in operation but nonessential services are sharply curtailed. All Reclamation visitor centers, including those at Hoover, Glen Canyon, and Grand Coulee dams, will be closed until further notice for the safety of the public.

"We join all of America in reaching out to the victims and their families," said John Keys, Commissioner of Reclamation.

The Bureau of Reclamation provides water and hydroelectricity throughout the western United States, operating such projects as Hoover Dam and Grand Coulee Dam.
