Reclamation Announces Jackson Lake Operations Meeting

The Bureau of Reclamation will host a public meeting in Jackson, Wyoming, on May 17, 2001. Winter snow accumulation is well below average. Reduced spring runoff combined with low carryover storage in other reservoirs of the upper Snake River system at the end of last year will result in a low water supply and high demands on Jackson Lake water. The meeting will include runoff volume forecasts, projected reservoir operations for water year 2001, and a report of ongoing cutthroat trout research.

Date: Thursday, May 17, 2001
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: Senior Center of Jackson Hole
830 East Hansen Avenue
Jackson, Wyoming

All river users interested in the operations of Jackson Lake and the resulting flows downstream are invited to attend. The public will have an opportunity to ask questions about drought management, projected river flows, projected lake levels and the operations of other upper Snake River facilities.

The meeting facility is accessible to people with disabilities. Please contact Laura Bell at (208) 678-0461 at the Snake River Area Office, Burley Idaho, if you need sign language interpretation for the hearing impaired or other auxiliary aides.
