On the Road to Arrowrock
Two Federal Agencies are coordinating their respective construction activities this summer in the Arrowrock Dam area. The Bureau of Reclamation is constructing a new bridge over the Arrowrock Dam spillway, and the Federal Highway Administration is paving the road from the Spring Shores Marina to the dam.
The Bureau of Reclamation continues to work closely with the Federal Highway Administration to keep the general public updated on road closures in this area.
ARROWROCK BRIDGE REPLACEMENT UPDATE
Reclamation reports that the Arrowrock Bridge Replacement project is continuing on schedule. Turn-Key Inc., the contractor for the project, is working 7:00 a.m. to 5: 30 p.m. Monday thru Friday preparing the site for bridge abutment placement. Minimal traffic delays can be expected in the vicinity of the dam.ATLANTA ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
The Federal Highway Administration reports that drivers heading up the road to the Lucky Peak Marina may continue to find traveling slower than usual. Lemhi Environmental Diversified is paving the road from the intersection of State Highway 21 and the Atlanta Road past the Spring Shores Marina and Macks Creek. For the next two weeks, Lemhi will be installing erosion control devices, clearing, mobilizing heavy equipment, and performing survey and staking at various locations. Flaggers are now in place to direct the traffic during the construction operation. Lemhi’s contract allows them to delay traffic up to 30 minutes. At this time, however, only 5 minute delays can be expected.
The road will be open to public travel without any delays between 4:00 p.m. Friday and 6:00 a.m. the following Monday.
The public is being asked for their patience, consideration, and cooperation during this construction season and should be reminded to follow speed limits and flagger’s instructions while passing through the construction zone.
As the construction progresses, advanced notice of delay times and durations will be published.
