Otto Otter Water Safety Program: PSA Transcript

Announcement #1 (English)

Otto Otter: Hoo, ha, Ho, Hey Kids! Otto Otter here. Cool water is cool. But playing, swimming, or running around canals and ditches in your neighborhood is not. Stay away from canals and ditches; the water is fast, deep, and dangerous! Canals and ditches can hurt you!

Narrator: This has been a message from the Bureau of Reclamation and your local irrigation district.

Announcement #2 (English)

Kid 1: Hey, let’s swim in the canal – come on let’s go!

Kid 2: No way Joey; we could drown.

Otto Otter: That’s right kids, canals and ditches are un-cool. 

Otto Otter: Playing, running, or swimming around canals and ditches is dangerous and unsafe.

Kid1: But Otto, it's hot outside!

Otto Otter: Well then, cool off at a local pool, lake, or swimming area where adults can watch you. Never swim alone and always have a buddy.

Kids: Okay.

Otto Otter: Otto Otter says — Play it safe this summer and stay away from canals and ditches, they’ll hurt you.

Otto Otter: Hola Niños, soy Otter la Nutria. Handar en la aqua es divertido. Pero jugar, nadar o correr alrededor de los canales y las zanjas de tu vecindario NO LO ES! Mantenganse lejos de los canales y las zanjas, la aqua esta rapida, fria y peligrosa. Los canales y las zanjas te pueden lastimar.
