Report #67 - Summary -

The Water Desalination Act of 1996 (P.L. 104-298) required Reclamation to submit a report to congress recommending desalination demonstration projects or full-scale desalination projects to carry out the purposes of the Act and to further evaluate and implement the results of research and studies conducted under the authority of the Act. Based on program findings, Reclamation recommended the following projects be funded for demonstration: (1) Membrane Bioreactors; (2) Innovative Membrane Test Bed for Seawater Desalination; (3) Dewvaporation; and (4) Clathrate Desalination.
