A workshop entitled Growing the U.S. Water Supply Through Purification Technologies was held in Golden, CO, on April 10, 2000.
The workshop was sponsored by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Office of Research, Dr. Stanley, L. Ponce, Director.
A core group of leaders in the water resources community were invited to participate, including representatives from national organizations, various state/local water districts, industry, as well as selected Congressional representatives.
The major purpose of the workshop was to begin a conversation and development of a consensus on ways to more actively promote new water purification technologies among representatives of water users.
The workshop consisted of presentations by experts on current water supply topics, breakout sessions at which participants discussed critical water supply issues, and a closing facilitation aimed at identifying the major water supply concerns facing the participants and the water users they represent.
