Funding
Funding for most projects and programs accomplished by the Water Treatment Engineering and Research Group (WaTER) are provided through US Congressional appropriations. Occasionally, grants and general investigation funds are available for specific areas of research. Work not covered by congressional appropriations generally requires full cost reimbursement. Cost-sharing may be available through specific programs, including the Desalination and Water Purification Research & Development (DWPR) Program, the Title XVI Water Reuse Program, or the Native American Affairs Program.
Some funding for cooperative agreements under the DWPR program are awarded yearly, contingent upon Congressional appropriations, through Solicitations published in the Federal Business Opportunities.
