INTERAGENCY CONSORTIUM FOR DESALINATION AND MEMBRANE SEPARATION RESEARCH
WHO ARE WE?
The Interagency Consortium for Desalination and Membrane Separation Research (Consortium), established in 1992, is a technology transfer effort initiated by representatives from the Bureau of Reclamation's Water Treatment Engineering and Research Group in Denver, Colorado; and the US Army's Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) in Warren, Michigan.
Consortium members work together to establish a communications network in order to gain the following benefits:
- prevent Federal duplication of efforts,
- pool limited Federal research funding and other resources to obtain common goals,
- identify future research needs, and
- allow for discussion of new technologies with other experts in the field.
To avoid conflicts in interest, the Consortium is open only to Federal government employees.
The Consortium meets on an annual basis. The 2004 annual meeting was held January 6-8, in San Antonio, TX, in cooperation with the The Office of Naval Research's kick-off meeting on the Expeditionary Unit Water Purifier program. Click to view a copy of the 2004 agenda.
