Cultural Resources Management Training

Course will be given in 2008--time to be announced.

What are cultural resources and why do we need to be concerned about them? How do we do "cultural resources compliance?" Cultural Resources Management Training is a 2-day course, specifically developed for Reclamation.

Topics of the course include:

• Explanation of cultural resources
• Legislative background for cultural resources management in Reclamation
• Compliance requirements for project planning
  • National Environmental Policy Act
  • National Historic Preservation Act
  • Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act
• Cultural resources management within Reclamation
• Advance planning and long-term responsibilities

This course was designed for Reclamation supervisors, managers, environmental and resource management specialists, planners, land and property specialists, engineers, and anyone else involved with decisionmaking that may affect cultural resources. It was presented by ETCI Consultants and Reclamation cultural resources staff.
