Protective Coatings Hands-On Training

The Material Research and Engineering Laboratory will be presenting Protective Coatings Hands-On Course.

Protective Coatings Hands-On Course – The 2-day course will familiarize students with the latest coating application and inspection techniques relating to maintenance and repair of infrastructure. Topics will include surface preparation, application and inspection methods, hazardous materials, coating technology, standards, overcoating, metallizing, common design flaws, and problem solving. The class will emphasize hands-on experience where participants will prepare steel panels and apply coatings, and perform both destructive and non-destructive inspection tests on these panels.

Students will have the opportunity to use the new cartridge gun for applying plural component coatings for spot repair.
