Award-winning employees:
John Wilson, TSC Engineer of the Year
John Wilson was selected as the Technical Service Center’s 2009 Engineer of the Year. John, a senior geotechnical specialist with the Geotechnical Engineering Group, is a highly regarded expert in the area of seismic modifications to dams. For the past 4 years, he has served as senior team leader of the Folsom project, Reclamation’s largest dam modification in history. This high-profile project involves modifying multiple large embankment dams and concrete structures that pose high risks to the downstream population. Commissioner Bob Johnson noted that, “John’s calm yet firm and disciplined approach has resulted in the delivery of technically superior products in an environment where a sense of urgency is persistent due to the excessively high risks.” In addition to his Folsom project duties, John is concurrently serving as principal engineer for 28 Reclamation and Bureau of Indian Affairs.
