Proposed Folom Intake Enlargement

to support a study by K. Warren Frizell

Objective: To investigate the hydraulic impacts on the proposed enlargement of Folsom Dam.

This CFD study was in support of The Hydraulic Model Study of the Enlarged Outlets at Folsom Dam, 1:17 Scale Sectional Model. K. Warren Frizell was the principal investigator on this study. The CFD approach was first validated and Verified using comparisons to the physical model of a 90 degree outlet, then a skewed outlet was investigated. 3D view of a proposed skewed intake.
