My USAJOBS Recruitment One Stop
Step-by-step for NEW USERS
Anyone can search for job vacancies at USAJOBS (www.usajobs.opm.gov) without being registered at My USAJOBS. However, you MUST be registered at My USAJOBS and create at least one resume in order to APPLY for online job vacancies at the Bureau of Reclamation. If you are already registered, you do not need to register again. However, you may want to update your resume or create a new resume for the specific job vacancy.
When you are searching for job vacancies, you will notice that most Reclamation job vacancies are available for online application. See the instructions located under the tab: HOW TO APPLY. These vacancies have a button at the bottom of each page labeled “APPLY ONLINE.”
Whether you are a new user or registered user, you may use the APPLY ONLINE button to get to My USAJOBS so you can either register, or to apply.
STEPS FOR NEW USERS
FIRST TIME TO REGISTER AT MY USAJOBS, Recruitment One Stop
STEP 1
At My USAJOBS, click on [Create your account now!]
You will create a user account, USAJOBS Career Center Account, by submitting basic personal information.
STEP 2
You must create a resume before applying for a job. Click on “ create a resume” and follow the steps to create your online resume.
NOTE: If you used the APPLY ONLINE button to get to My USAJOBS, the system can automatically take you to Reclamation’s site where you will submit additional information and you can apply to the specific job vacancy. If you do not see a job title (or the correct job title) when you are done creating a resume, click on “ Search Jobs” to find the position for which you wish to apply. You will eventually get to the following steps once you decide to apply to a job vacancy.
STEP 3
When you have completed your resume, you should see the job title for the job vacancy. Select a resume and then click on [ Apply for this position now!]. You will automatically be transitioned to Reclamation’s Welcome site, and then click on [ Continue]. You will be asked to submit additional information. Click on the [ Next] button to continue through these steps.
STEP 4
At the screen titled “Generate Auto-Requested Fax Cover Sheets” you will be asked to print certain cover sheets for supporting documentation. If the documents pertain to you, print the cover sheets and use them to submit your documents. Click on the boxes for the appropriate documents and then click on [Print Cover Sheet]. STEP 5
At the screen titled “ Grade and Location Selection” – this starts the online application process for the specific job vacancy. A series of assessment questions will be asked. Your answers to these questions, along with your resume and supporting documentation, will form your application. Answer the questions by clicking on the response check box. Click on [Continue] until you are done answering the questions.
You should see the “Personal Info” page at the end of this process where you can see an overview of your personal information and the answers to the assessment questions. When you are done, you will be sent back to My USAJOBS. You may log out from here. Log in again if you need to update your information.
- You may edit personal information at any time by clicking on Account Profile
- You have until the closing date of a job vacancy to edit your answers to the assessment questions for the job vacancy. Find the job vacancy announcement at USAJOBS and click on [APPLY ONLINE] as if you are going to apply again. The system will display your responses and you may edit these responses, up until the closing date.
