C. C. Cragin Dam and Spillway, Arizona

REASON FOR PHOTOGRAMMETRY: To provide baseline information for rehabilitation of the C.C. Cragin Spillway.

Upstream view of exposed rock in the concrete spillway overlay. Erosion in the channel downstream of the original spillway occurred as a result of spillway releases, with the erosion occurring along shear zones in the foundation. The channel was subsequently protected by adding a concrete overlay incorporating steps.

Screen capture of the photogrammetric model. The colored translucent disks are "joint halos" that represent discontinuities in the rock mass. The software generates these joint halos, and different colors indicate different joint sets (joints that are oriented in similar dip and dip directions).
