Resource Management

Resource Managers manage and facilitate multidisciplinary water resource planning and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance teams. Services provided include needs and key issue identification, alternative formulation, scoping, scheduling, staffing.

Teams may include technical specialists from within the Technical Service Center, Region and Area Offices, other State and Federal agencies, and consultants.

  • Assemble a team
  • Identify goals and clarify objectives
  • Determine products and expected outcomes
  • Develop study plans
  • Develop cost estimates and service agreements
  • Scope environmental issues
  • Inventory and evaluate resources
  • Formulate alternatives and analyze impacts
  • Select preferred alternatives for decision makers
  • Manage and prepare environmental documents, including:
    • Environmental Impact Statements
    • Environmental Assessments
    • Categorical Exclusion Checklists
    • Findings of No Significant Impact
    • Records of Decision
    • Appraisals
    • Feasibility studies
    • Special studies
