This tool will help refine what you are doing to make it more effective. Sometimes alternatives are rejected without full consideration, and good ideas can get lost in the shuffle. Make sure that the bases are covered by reviewing the action at decision points (for example, purpose of project, alternatives to evaluate, a selected alternative).

navigate in the page--How Do I Use It?

This is a helpful check when used to take stock or to do a quick reality check. Meet with participants to consider the decision in the light of other actions you could have taken. You can also use this meeting to anticipate potential problems with the selected alternatives. Pretend that the alternative has been implemented and ask:

     
  • What problems did you encounter in implementing?
  • What problems are you faced with now that the decision is implemented?
  • How could you have addressed these problems?
