Bruce Muller
Senior Advisor - Design, Estimating & Construction Oversight and Dam Safety Officer

Bruce Muller is the Senior Advisor - Design, Estimating & Construction Oversight and Dam Safety Officer. He provides oversight of design, estimating and construction activities as they are being formulated and ensures that executive-level management decisions and products are sound at the project and corporate levels. As Reclamation's Dam Safety Officer, he will provide broad program guidance, conduct reviews and perform quality assurance of Reclamation's Dam Safety Program.

Muller joined Reclamation in 1979 as a civil engineer where he was a design engineer, project manager for designs of new dams and modifications to existing dams, developed methodologies and guidelines to facilitate risk management and implemented new technologies for dam analysis and design.

From 2000 to 2009, he participated in program management for dam safety, emergency management, site security and occupational health and safety, serving as the Chief of Dam Safety Office and then Deputy Director for Security, Safety and Law Enforcement.

Since 2010, Muller guided Reclamation's support of the IT Transformation effort. He has worked closely with the Department of the Interior, Information Resources Office throughout Reclamation to support the vision of a more efficient delivery of IT Services while sustaining current IT operations at the same time.

Muller earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University in 1978 and his Masters of Science in Civil Engineering/Water Resource Management from Colorado State University. He also is a graduate of the Department of the Interior's Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program.
