Reclamation recently completed and issued a Resource Management Plan (RMP) for lands around the reservoir after two years of public involvement. The RMP stated that Reclamation will establish a working group to help identify potential options to address general Canyon Ferry Reservoir lands and recreation issues and to implement objectives outlined in the RMP.

Montana Area Manager Susan Kelly said the working group will consist of representatives from Broadwater and Lewis and Clark County government, resource management agencies, marina operators at the reservoir, and others.

Kelly said, "We expect the working group will help provide an ongoing exchange of information between Reclamation and the public so we can make the best decisions about managing lands and recreation at the reservoir."

At the first meeting the working group will briefly review the conclusions of the RMP and then formalize the working group and begin charting its future.
