The Bureau of Reclamation will temporarily close the access road over Palisades Dam for two days while maintenance crews perform routine repair work at the dam located on the South Fork of the Snake River about 52 miles east of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
The road will be closed on Monday, September 8, and Tuesday, September 16. The closure will be between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on both days while maintenance crews use a large crane to do routine repair work.
Those coming from Idaho Falls should take the Snake River Road at Conant Valley Bridge to access those areas on the other side of the river. Individuals driving in from the southeast can access the area by way of McCoy Creek Road. Drivers are asked to give themselves additional travel time in order to reach their usual destination on the other side of the Snake River.
For more information about the temporary road closure call Palisades Dam at (208) 483-4015.
