Pete Lucero Selected as Manager of Reclamation's Lake Berryessa Field Office

The Bureau of Reclamation, Mid-Pacific Region, announces the selection of Mr. Pedro "Pete" Lucero as the Manager of the Lake Berryessa Field Office. The Field Office Manager reports to the Central California Area Office Manager in Folsom, who provides policy direction for operations at Lake Berryessa.
Born in Vallejo, Mr. Lucero's Federal career began at Mare Island Naval Shipyard. He comes to Reclamation from the National Park Service, where he was the Facility Manager at Yosemite National Park, Haleakala National Park on Maui, Kings Canyon National Park, and Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. His most recent position was as the Park Service's Bevinetto Congressional Fellow in Washington D.C., serving as a staff member on the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, Subcommittee on National Parks, and as a Legislative Affairs Specialist in the Office of Legislative and Congressional Affairs. In that position, he worked closely with Congressional staff members and with employees in the Office of Management and Budget and the Department of the Interior.
Mr. Lucero will report for duty at Lake Berryessa on August 16, 2004. He will help in the development of the Visitor Services Plan, a long-term recreation plan for the lake. Mr. Lucero replaces Mr. Steve Rodgers who transferred to the National Park Service in March 2004 to be the Ships and Facility Manager at the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park.
