On Saturday August 6, 2005, the 7th annual Lemhi Shoshone - Lewis and Clark Camp Fortunate Re-enactment will take place at West Cameahwait Campground, Clark Canyon Reservoir, 20 miles south of Dillon, Montana. The camp will open at 10:00 a.m. the re-enactment will begin at 1:00 p.m. Vendors will provide food and drinks. Camp tents, canoes, and equipment of the 1800's will be featured. Re-enactors in period clothing will demonstrate and share Lewis and Clark lore, including Lemhi Shoshone descendents who will share their perspectives of history and their culture.
A Bicentennial Ball sponsored by the Dillon Junior Fiddlers will be held the evening of Saturday, August 6th at the Beaverhead County High School Gym in Dillon. Vintage attire is encouraged but not required.
