Commissioner John Keys III has announced that Anna R. Sandoval-Ryan has been named as special agent for Reclamation's Mid-Pacific Region in Sacramento, Calif. Earlier this year, Keys announced the hiring of a chief law enforcement officer and a special agent for each of Reclamation's other regions.
"Sandoval-Ryan and our other special agents bring extensive law enforcement experience to our agency. They are the first law enforcement professionals hired by Reclamation to implement our new law enforcement authority and program," said Keys. "These law enforcement professionals are helping us keep all Reclamation's facilities safe and secure so we can continue to provide water and power to the West."
Sandoval-Ryan joins Reclamation after spending the past 10 years as a special agent for the Office of the Inspector General at the Department of the Interior. During her career, she has been an instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and a member of a Secret Service protection detail. She began her career with the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Division as a Special Agent.
Sandoval-Ryan's career has focused on complex civil and criminal casework. These cases involved environmental violations, contract fraud, money laundering, internal employee investigations, theft of government property, mail fraud, Indian gaming, and protection of public land resources.
Sandoval-Ryan resides in Sacramento, Calif., with her husband, Chris, and their three children.
