FRESNO, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation has changed the meeting time of the negotiation session on Santa Clara Valley Water District’s request for a contract amendment to its combined long-term water service and operation and maintenance contract, No. 7-07-20-W0023.
The proposed amendment would modify existing contract language to be consistent with the provision allowing a mutually agreeable point or points of delivery, as provided for in Article 5 of the 2003 Central Valley Project-wide negotiated form of contract for long-term contract renewals.
An additional point of delivery, through the state of California’s South Bay Aqueduct, would help in minimizing adverse impacts to the district during times when water deliveries from San Luis Reservoir are constrained by low storage, or when operational flexibility is needed to address certain maintenance activities. It would not increase CVP water deliveries to the district.
