Reclamation Reissues Water Project Feasibility Studies Draft Release
The Bureau of Reclamation has reissued for public comment the draft directive and standard for feasibility studies to formulate, evaluate and select project plans for implementation. These updated requirements establish the responsibilities and procedures for conducting a planning study for the purpose of recommending congressional action. It also includes requirements for preparing, coordinating and reviewing feasibility-level planning reports.

This release was updated to reflect comments received during the first comment period from September 22 to November 25. Comments on this updated draft release are due by April 25, 2012.

The Reclamation Manual establishes Reclamation requirements, assigns program responsibility and establishes and documents Reclamation methods of doing business. The draft directive and standard is available for detailed review at: http://www.usbr.gov/recman. A summary of the draft update can be found at: http://on.doi.gov/qUPZPo. Comments or questions may be directed to Chris Perry at cperry@usbr.gov.
