The proposed revision was first published on July 18, 2007, for 90-days. Based upon comments that were received during that time period, Reclamation revised the rule and is republishing it and will accept comments for 60 days from the date the revisions were printed in the Federal Register on July 18, 2008.
On Thursday, August 7, Reclamation will host an informational meeting about the rule in Yuma, Arizona. The meeting will be held at the Quartermaster Depot State Historic Park, at 201 N. 4th Avenue, and will begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude by 11:00 a.m. The meeting will provide information on the proposed revised rule and answers to any questions.
The revisions to the rule were needed to incorporate current Federal mandates concerning the use of Federal land and cost recovery and to meet present Federal regulation standards.
