On December 5, flows are expected to increase from 300 cubic feet per second to 500 cfs between 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., then return to 300 cfs. On December 6, the flow rate will increase from 300 cfs to 1,000 cfs and then return to 300 cfs in the evening.
Once the testing is completed, flows will return to normal winter levels of about 300 cfs.
Anderson Ranch Dam is an earth-filled structure completed in 1950, and standing about 336 feet high. Water stored behind the dam is used for irrigation, flood control, power generation, and recreation. The storage capacity of the reservoir is approximately 493,000 acre feet.
