The proposed project would provide additional regulating capacity to maximize within the United States the beneficial use of Colorado River water released from Parker Dam. It includes construction of a storage reservoir with a capacity of 8,000 acre- feet; an inlet structure off the All-American Canal (AAC); and an outlet structure that connects the reservoir back to the AAC. The reservoir would be used to store diverted, excess Colorado River water from the AAC as water schedule adjustments are made during inclement weather or higher than normal flow periods. The regulated water would be used by the Imperial Irrigation District as part of its Colorado River water entitlement.
The proposed project lies within Reclamation withdrawn lands and would be located 30 miles east of El Centro, California, in Imperial County.
