New Mexico

Zuni Tribe
At the request of the Zuni Tribe, Technical Assistance Program funding has been provided to allow Zuni Water Resources staff and contractors to begin an inventory of existing water supply, monitoring and range wells on the reservation. Upon completion of the well inventory, Zuni and contractor staff will design and implement a computer database which will facilitate the integration of the well inventory data into the Zuni Resource Development Plan. Status: Ongoing.

Arizona

Hualapai Tribe

At the request of the Hualapai Tribe, Technical Assistance Program funding has been provided to allow Hualapai staff and contractors to begin restoration of a water storage tank (c. 1920s) which is open (subject to non-point source pollution) and to replace a water pipeline (c. 1880s) which was constructed with lead-solder joints (currently unusable). The town of Peach Springs, the reservation’s population center, currently relies on a domestic water source located in the town of Truxton (off-reservation). The restored tank and new pipeline will serve as the town’s only on-reservation domestic water supply. Status: Ongoing
