NAGPRA Federal Register Notices
The Secretary of the Interior, through the National NAGPRA Program, is required to publish a notice in the Federal Register before the repatriation of Native American human remains, funerary objects, sacred objects, and objects of cultural patrimony. A Notice of Inventory Completion summarizes the contents of a completed inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in sufficient detail to enable other individuals, Indian tribes, and Native Hawaiian organizations to determine their interest in claiming the inventoried items.
