Subject: Fiscal Year 1999 Acquisition Plan/Forecast--Due Date: August 14, 1998
This is a reminder that bureau FY 1999 advance acquisition plans (used in our Procurement Forecast) are due in this office (OSDBU) by no later than August 14. In compiling and submitting your plan/forecast, we ask that you:
1. Use the formats provided with our e-mail message of May 28. They have been designed as a "fill in the blanks" type electronic forms in WordPerfect 8 and Microsoft Word (version 6). Note the addition of a new column for "Principle place of performance."
2. To eliminate confusion make all entries as clear and precise as possible and pay particular attention to:
a. Description of requirement -- use plain language, giving as much information as possible
b. Product/service code -- use complete 4-digit codes
c. Times for solicitation issuance and contract award -- if process crosses fiscal years, be sure to specify the correct year.
d. Whether the requirement is new or a contract modification (e.g., exercise of option) and, where possible, annotate accordingly.
3. Send the forecast to OSDBU: (1) as a WordPerfect or Word attachment to an e-mail message (or text file capable of being used by WordPerfect); or (2) on a high density floppy diskette in either of the same formats. (We will furnish a copy to the Office of Acquisition and Property Management.)
