Acquisition of Construction
Once an acquisition requirement is received, contracting personnel must determine if it is a construction requirement. FAR 2.101 defines construction as "construction, alterations, or repair (including dredging, excavating, and painting) of buildings, structures, or other real property."
The definition is further described by stating that "buildings, structures, or other real property" includes, but is not limited to improvements of all types. Examples are provided in the following chart:
