Leslie Comnes, M.A.

Leslie Comnes is an education writer specializing in science and environmental education programs. As a former teacher, she aims to develop motivating programs that are connected to learners' everyday lives and that are based on realistic expectations of students and teachers. She has worked on a number of nationally-recognized projects, including the Project Learning Tree K-8 Activity Guide, Project WILD's Wild About Elk, and the award-winning California State Environmental Education Guide. On the issue of water, she edited the North American Association for Environmental Education's "Clean Water: Taking Care of Unfinished Business"; co-wrote "Water Wisdom", a curriculum guide for grades 4-8 that focuses on water use and conservation; and wrote a study guide to accompany The Water Cycle, an educational video about the plight of Mono Lake in California.
